Remote and VPN access. Virtual Private Network (VPN) Access helps you access the resources that are on your office network from anywhere; as long as you have the proper firewall, secure credentials and appropriate software client. Since the coronavirus spread has progressed, we have spent a lot of time with our customers getting many of them remote or VPN access to their work networks so that they can continue using the same applications and accessing the same data they would if they were working in the office.
For a lot of businesses, this part is essential because they have software applications or data that needs to stay on the central server or office computers but they need to access it from home now (remotely). There are intricacies and different types of remote access that most non-IT people don’t understand (or don’t want to). That’s perfectly okay, that’s why we are here. We help our customers determine what is the best path for them and help them appropriately. We realize that it’s not a one-size-fits-all situation and we are careful to adapt to our customers wants, budgets, and needs.
Security always needs to be a focus when working with technology and you will find that no matter what we recommend for our customers, security is always the first part of our considerations. No matter which path we advise on, we want to do it in the most secure way possible, within your parameters.
Some more work-from-home (WFH) topics we’ll discuss in the blog are: VOIP phones, how to communicate with co-workers and customers remotely, and simply how to work from home better. If we come across some cool distractions or information on coronavirus in general, we’ll share that here too. We are all in this together, from a social distance of course.
